About EarnedMD

Built for the gap between care delivered and care documented.

Healthcare providers spend their days focused on taking care of patients. But the quality and complexity of that care isn't always fully reflected in the medical record.

That can mean missed documentation, missed coding opportunities, and ultimately revenue that a practice has legitimately earned but never captures.

We built EarnedMD to help change that.

Where healthcare meets technology

EarnedMD was founded by James and Allison Rabe, bringing together two complementary perspectives: secure technology and clinical practice.

Our goal is simple: give healthcare practices an accessible way to review their documentation, identify potential opportunities for improvement, and better understand where the care being delivered may not be fully represented in the medical record.

We believe sophisticated chart review shouldn't be limited to large health systems with dedicated coding and revenue-cycle teams.

James Rabe

James Rabe

Co-Founder

James brings more than a decade of experience working with technology and security in highly regulated industries, including healthcare and financial services. His career has focused on cybersecurity, secure software, technology strategy, and building solutions that organizations can trust with sensitive information. At EarnedMD, James leads the technology, security, and product side of the company.

Allison Rabe, PA-C

Allison Rabe, PA-C

Co-Founder

Allison brings the clinical perspective behind EarnedMD. Before becoming a physician assistant, she worked with medical documentation, giving her an early view into how clinical care translates into the medical record. After PA school, she practiced in emergency medicine before transitioning to dermatology, where she continues to expand her clinical expertise through a dermatology PA fellowship. Her experience on both sides of the documentation process helps keep EarnedMD grounded in the realities of clinical practice: limited time, complex encounters, and documentation that needs to accurately represent the care delivered.

Technology should support clinical judgment, not replace it.

Another set of eyes

EarnedMD isn't designed to tell clinicians how to practice medicine or replace professional coding judgment. It's designed to help identify documentation and coding opportunities worth a closer look.

Accessible chart review

Sophisticated documentation review shouldn't be limited to large healthcare organizations with dedicated coding and revenue-cycle teams.

Actionable feedback

The goal isn't simply to identify a potential issue. EarnedMD should help providers understand why something deserves attention and improve documentation over time.

Privacy & security by design

Healthcare technology should earn the trust placed in it. Privacy and security should influence how the product is designed from the beginning, not be treated as features added later.

Our Mission

Help healthcare practices better capture the value of the care they already provide through smarter, more accessible documentation review.
